General Construction and Renovations

From the foundations to the last detail, or giving new life to existing spaces. We manage construction and renovation projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability. We connect with versatile and experienced construction teams.

New Construction

New Construction

In the dynamic context of Medellin and its surroundings, where the biodiversity of the Sierra Nevada and the water flows of the Medellin River basin play a crucial role in urban planning, we carry out the creation of new buildings with an approach that merges architectural innovation and environmental sustainability. From the pre-construction phase, our comprehensive coordination covers earthmoving with low-consumption machinery and controlled compaction techniques that minimize soil disturbance, reducing dust and excessive compaction that could interfere with natural drainage. In the foundation stage, we conduct geotechnical studies that consider the typical soils of the coffee region and the urban embankments, choosing between strip footings in recycled steel, foundation slabs with lime mortar and recovered stone, or sustainably managed wood piles when the terrain requires it. All this is integrated with rainwater drainage systems that efficiently channel the flow of the region's typical rainfall, preventing erosion and water accumulation in the structure. During the construction phase, we supervise and coordinate each trade involved—masons, carpenters, electricians, and solar energy experts—to ensure that every process, from excavation to the final finish, is executed with the highest standards of energy efficiency and responsible use of resources. We implement 'green' construction solutions such as photovoltaic solar roof panels, low-consumption LED lighting systems, and natural ventilation that takes advantage of the air flow between the urban area and the Sierra Nevada area. At the end of the project, we deliver a building that not only meets your aesthetic and functional expectations but also incorporates local sustainability certifications.

Renovations and Additions

Renovations and Additions

In the urban fabric of Medellin, where the preservation of historical identity and the maximization of resources are essential, we specialize in transforming existing homes through renovations and additions that respect both the original structure and the environment. When approaching a renovation, we first analyze the original structure and construction system—many houses in the center of Medellin are built with brick from the coffee region and adobe walls from the coffee region—to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvement, such as the incorporation of thermal insulation systems with plant-based foam or the replacement of single-pane windows with double-glazing with recycled glass, reducing heat loss. When it comes to additions, we work to ensure that the new construction integrates harmoniously with the existing architecture, respecting the area's guidelines and local green building codes. We use construction materials recovered from the site itself—such as leftover adobe blocks, recovered wood panels, and concrete debris that are reused in new blocks—to create a sustainable bridge between the old and the new. Likewise, we incorporate green technologies such as low-profile solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems for watering the facade's vegetation, maintaining the aesthetic and environmental cohesion of the whole.

Project Management

Project Management and Supervision

For the residents of Medellin and the surrounding valley, project management and supervision becomes a guarantee that the project will not only follow the schedule but also maintain its commitment to sustainability. Our team of project managers uses digital green construction tools that allow for real-time monitoring of the consumption of materials, energy, and waste. Environmental impact reports are generated and compared with the carbon reduction goals of the Medellin Mayor's Office, ensuring that each phase of the project complies with local sustainable construction standards. We will maintain fluid and transparent communication with you through on-site meetings, video conferences, and digital updates, ensuring that your participation in decision-making remains active. In addition, we continuously review the budget to avoid cost overruns, implementing circular economy practices that reuse materials and reduce waste generation. Thus, the client's peace of mind is combined with the delivery of a building that is respectful of the environment, aligned with the ecological vision of Medellin and its surrounding communities.
